April 4, 2022 – 4:30pm
Guitar virtuoso Mick Valentino will be featured on the April 4 episode of The Brother Dan Show, live from the Bank Saloon in Carson City.
Valentino grew up in Sacramento and began playing in local clubs in his mid-teen years, and was signed to his first recording contract in 1977 with the band Sun Bear, whose first album ranked on Billboard’s R&B album chart. He later joined Santa Esmeralda, which offered him his first opportunity to tour and perform throughout Europe and Asia. In 1985, Valentino met regional artist Tommy Bell, and soon joined The Tommy Bell Show for a 15-year stint, which is where local fans are most likely to recognize him from.
More recently, Valentino can be found appearing as a solo artist, and with a variety of local musical standouts including Tom Stryker’s Impromptu, local performer Craig Fletcher, and has recorded with Niall McGuiness’s New World Jazz Project.
Host Brother Dan Palmer will interview and make music with this exceptional musician, and local audiences 21 and over are invited to attend. Music starts at 4:30pm, with the livestream available on the host’s music page at 5:00pm. Snacks are provided for the in-person audience by show sponsor Mangia Tutto.
The Brother Dan Show features a variety of local and regional artists in a casual chat/jam format. The show provides an excellent opportunity for viewers to gain insight into the life and times of talented artists.
The Bank Saloon is located at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City and offers fine craft cocktails along with a weekly line-up of entertainment, including The Brother Dan Show on Mondays, plus a selection of local musical acts on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
