ITM gears up for Birmingham conference

More than 100 buyers have signed up for next month’s The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) conference, the first in-person annual conference since the start of the pandemic.

ITM said delegate registrations has already exceeded expectations, with just five weeks to go until the conference takes place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on April 27-28.

The programme has been confirmed and will include the following sessions:

·        ‘DEI – Translating Words into Action’ when an expert panel will share insights into actioning change within travel programmes

·        ‘Selling Travel’s Strategic Value’ when Scott Gillespie, Founder & CEO tClara, will be joined by GBTA Executive Director, Suzanne Neufang, to explore the critical conversation on selling business travel’s strategic value to senior management and changing the way travel is managed

·        ‘Treading Lightly; Travelling Responsibly’ – an insightful panel session sharing steps for meaningful change at travel programme level.

On day two of the conference there will be five Buyer Knowledge Exchange sessions, giving buyer attendees valuable opportunities to gather in closed groups to share, benchmark and learn on a variety of topical topics, challenges and opportunities.

Each of the five sessions will be led by an ITM buyer board member.

The topics for the five Buyer Knowledge Exchanges are Future Role of the Travel Manager; Traveller Communication & Engagement; Building a sustainable travel programme; Incorporating start-ups/disruptors within your travel programme; and TMC Supply Chain and Recovery Strategy.

ITM CEO Scott Davies said: “This year’s conference is a highly-anticipated and eagerly-awaited event for the ITM community as it’s the first time in three years that we have been able to hold our annual conference in person. We have already had exceptionally strong demand for delegate places at this stage in the run-up to the event. Places are limited so my advice to anyone who is still looking to attend, would be to register as soon as possible.

“The ITM conference is renowned for its educational and thought-provoking conference and this year’s programme is no exception. We have a compelling agenda with industry-leading keynote speakers and valuable panel and breakout sessions which will focus on topical themes that are central to rebooting business travel recovery, whilst supporting ESG goals, as well as optimising wellbeing, and diversity, equity and inclusion.”
