Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight shows the significant positive impact across the enterprise of improving remote operations and makes recommendations on how to get started. In the United States alone, food waste is estimated at between 30% to 40% of the food supply. While not caused by a single problem, many of the origins of waste can be linked to a lack of visibility into the cold chain. Remote monitoring, using IoT and other technologies, across a digitally connected, intelligent supply chain, mitigates waste while also improving overall operations, providing a better customer experience, improving product quality, increasing revenue and profits, and much more.
