Abstract
This IDC Perspective provides a snapshot of the various stimulus packages announced by the respective country governments in Asia/Pacific in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The translation of the announcement into real project initiations took place at varying pace across areas, such as infrastructure, health, education, tourism, aviation, social protection, and more. Year 2021 and beyond will see continued growth and implementation of government-initiated projects in sectors that were hit hard by the pandemic.
“Country governments in Asia/Pacific were responsive in announcing stimulus packages to revive the economy from the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic. Governments should take these measures as an opportunity to establish close public–private partnerships and build strong ecosystem models while deploying various stimulus measures. Delivering these services through digital platforms at any level of adoption will help governments deploy services efficiently even in the post-COVID period,” says Manoj Vallikkat, research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Healthcare Insights.
