A new documentary is set to lift the lid on the secrets behind one of the nation’s favourite restaurants chains.
Channel 5 documentary Toby Carvery: How Do They Do It? will be revealing everything that makes the buffet venue tick, from its financial ins and outs to the everyday runnings and preparing for the all important dinner service.
Viewers will also be advised on how to make the best roast potatoes to the ideal size and dimensions of a Yorkshire pudding. Toby Carvery has over 150 locations across the UK and was founded nearly four decades ago.
Some people may be familiar with some of the secrets as back in 2020 staff shared information on some of the questions they get asked the most and what they want customers to know. This includes everything from how employees get free food to a plea to customers to refill their own drinks.
Last year our reviewer went to try out Toby Carvery’s new setup since reopening after the pandemic and was surprised by some of the changes they had made, including no plating up mountains of roasties for yourself – now you have to ask.
And earlier this year we tried the Toby Carvery ‘magic bag’ where bags for less than £4 are packed together at the end of the day with plenty of goodies from Yorkshire puddings, to roast potatoes and sliced meats.
But if you want to see more about the home of the Roast, viewers and carvery fans will be able to tune in to the documentary at 7pm on Channel 5 this Sunday.
