Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) officially announced the appointment of Scott Chambers as the new principal of Carey Ridge Elementary School, effective February 2, 2026. The WWS School Board approved his hiring during a meeting on December 9, marking a significant step in leadership for the institution.

Chambers joins Carey Ridge Elementary with an impressive 27 years of experience in the field of education. He has dedicated 22 of those years to leadership roles as a principal across various districts, including Spencer-Owen Community Schools, Greenwood Community Schools, and Hamilton Southeastern Schools. Most recently, he served for 12 years as the principal of Reagan Elementary School within the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. His extensive background reflects a deep commitment to educational excellence and a focus on student-centered practices.

In addition to his role as a principal, Chambers is currently the Executive Director of Team and Family Experience at K1ds Count Therapy. In this capacity, he oversees care coordination and services for families with children on the autism spectrum. Chambers’ multifaceted experience emphasizes his dedication to fostering an inclusive educational environment while strengthening family engagement—all of which align closely with the mission and vision of Westfield Washington Schools.

Upon his appointment, Chambers expressed enthusiasm for joining the Westfield community. “Westfield is an amazing community that is filled with wonderful pride and energy,” he commented. “I am very excited to help care for the children of Carey Ridge Elementary School, learn about our parents and families, and partner with the terrific staff that I have heard a great deal about.”

Andy Hilton, the current principal at Carey Ridge Elementary, who will transition to his new role as principal of Westfield Elementary School, also shared positive remarks. “Scott will be an excellent addition to the WWS community and, more specifically, as the new leader for our Carey Ridge family,” Hilton stated. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time as principal here, and I’m confident that with Scott at the helm, Carey Ridge students, staff, and families are in good hands.”

In his personal life, Chambers is a devoted husband and father who enjoys outdoor activities. He and his wife, Betsy, a kindergarten educator in Avon Community Schools, share two daughters. Their eldest graduated from Grace College in 2024 and is married, while their youngest is currently a sophomore at Purdue University. The Chambers family actively participates in various recreational activities, from CrossFit to fishing and hunting, and cherishes moments spent together, particularly at the lake and at Disney.

As Scott Chambers prepares to assume his role at Carey Ridge Elementary, Westfield Washington Schools expresses its eagerness to welcome him. His experience, energy, and heart are anticipated to greatly enrich the educational journey of both students and staff within the school community.
