Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hires Camden resident as SVP, director of operations

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has hired David O’Connell as senior vice president, director of operations.

O’Connell will provide strategic direction, advanced technical guidance and leadership to the deposit operations, loan servicing, retail operations and account reconciliation teams.

David O’Connell

O’Connell brings over 20 years of experience in financial service operations to his position. He began his career at MBNA — later, Bank of America — where he held multiple senior management roles while based in Maine. 

He then served as vice president of operations and technology at Sallie Mae and later as president of Upromise Inc. Before joining Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, O’Connell was the head of product development and strategic partnerships at Concerto Card Co.

The Camden resident received his bachelor’s degree in government from Georgetown University.
