Bing’s Expanding Universe: New Publishing Deals and a Vibrant Debut at Cheltenham Literature Festival

Bing, the beloved character from Acamar Films, is stepping into new horizons—and in a big way! With a series of exciting new publishing deals recently secured, Bing is set to capture the hearts of young audiences beyond the traditional screen. These partnerships, which extend across the UK and Italy, promise to offer an enriching experience for pre-schoolers and their families, allowing them to dive deeper into Bing’s world through various engaging formats.

A New Chapter in Publishing
Acamar Films has joined forces with several dynamic partners to bring Bing’s adventures to life in innovative ways. One standout collaboration is with Little Brother Books, which will result in a brand-new annual set to launch in 2025. Priced for little hands, this board book will come complete with an easy-to-carry handle, making it perfect for tiny explorers eager to learn their ABCs and 123s. Scheduled to hit shelves in September 2024, this engaging annual will be filled with playful learning activities that are both entertaining and educational, ensuring that preschoolers are learning while they play.

But that’s not all. In November 2024, the first Bing audiobook titled Bing’s Playtime Stories and Songs will debut in the UK. This exciting audio collection is designed to offer a screen-free experience for children, providing an easy-to-use format for parents and caregivers alike. With storytelling at its heart, this audiobook aims to cultivate a love for narratives while fostering imaginative play.

Across the Mediterranean, Bing’s Italian audience will also be thrilled with a new alliance with Faba, a partnership that brings Bing’s magic to life through audio stories. The collection titled Un Giorno con Bing will feature six delightful stories and two sing-along songs that allow children to join Bing on his daily adventures. Furthermore, coming in Spring 2025, Buonanotte Bing will serve as a soothing bedtime companion, offering heartwarming stories complemented by a calming soundtrack to help little ones settle down for the night.

Bing Takes Center Stage at Cheltenham Literature Festival
This October marks a significant milestone for Bing as the character will make its debut at the prestigious Cheltenham Literature Festival, running from the 4th to the 13th. HarperCollins Children’s Books, Bing’s master publishing partner, is organizing a unique character activity trail in the festival’s enchanting Wild Woods area. This interactive experience is designed to immerse families in Bing’s world, allowing them to explore and engage in activities that feel reminiscent of watching Bing on screen—only this time, it’s live!

Heather Crossley, the Director of Publishing at Acamar Films, expressed her enthusiasm about these new developments. “We’re delighted to welcome new publishing partners as we continue to expand Bing’s off-screen presence. It’s also wonderful to debut Bing at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, in partnership with HarperCollins Children’s Books, featuring a host of interactive events that bring Bing to life and create lasting memories for Bingsters and their families. Our aim has always been to enrich children’s lives with meaningful content, and these new partnerships and activities help us do just that.”

Her sentiments underscore the commitment Acamar Films has to not just entertaining children, but also to providing valuable educational experiences. By merging learning with fun, Bing reinforces the idea that education doesn’t have to be dull; rather, it can be an adventure filled with music, stories, and hands-on activities.

Looking Ahead
As the world continues to navigate the digital landscape, the need for screen-free entertainment has never been more significant. Acamar Films’ latest initiatives align perfectly with this demand, offering a diverse range of materials that parents can trust—sparking imagination while fostering essential skills in the youngest of audiences.

With these new publishing deals and the character’s foray into live events at culturally significant festivals, Bing is on its way to becoming not just a favorite character, but a staple in family experiences across the UK and Italy. Keep an eye out for what Bing has in store, as Acamar Films is just getting started—inviting children everywhere to join in on the fun!
