KISSIMMEE, Fla. Experts say foreign travelers have flocked to Central Florida since the ban on traveling with the COVID-19 pandemic to America for most international residents ended Monday.

Kissimmee-based Horizon Vacation Homes has seen an increase in demand since the ban was first announced, according to owner and CEO Yann Guyonic.
Abroad, people are coming back and just do not want to wait any longer, he said.
International travelers made up about 80% of its tenants before the pandemic, but when the ban hit, domestic travelers and remote workers helped fill the gap, not to the end.
It’s not the same as some people coming here for a month or two, Guyonic said. So we really like to come back (international travelers).
Bookings on his business have returned to pre-pandemic figures for this time of year, he said.
International travelers currently make up 35% of Horizon Vacation Homes guests in January and February, Guyonic said. He expects this number to rise to close to 70% by the end of the month. Those months are usually slower for rents, but not this time, he said.
He estimates record rent figures for this summer.
We expect July and August to be like the best year ever for us in renting, Guyonic said.
Guyonic said the pandemic has taught him that his business can survive without international guests and that if rents are balanced only at around 50/50 between international and domestic travelers, he would be happy.
