Student Spotlight: Aarin Coronado of Hillcrest School

Kenosha, WI – In a continuous effort to highlight exceptional students from across Kenosha County, the Kenosha News is proud to feature Aarin Coronado, a senior at Hillcrest School. Recognized for his leadership potential and active participation in community initiatives, Coronado has made a significant impression on both his peers and educators.

Having developed a passion for environmental stewardship, Coronado recalls one of his most formative high school experiences as the moment he participated in a tree-planting project supervised by Mr. Robinson. “The most memorable moment is when we planted more trees with Mr. Robinson. We have a tree farm at Hillcrest, and we grow these trees to transplant them at other schools in Kenosha, which is pretty cool to do,” Coronado reflected. This initiative not only contributes to local ecology but also fosters collaboration among students and encourages them to engage with their community actively.

Among the various influences in his academic journey, Coronado cites Ms. Becca Williams as particularly impactful. She designed a unique project that integrated science and mathematics through hands-on activities involving marbles, which helped students grasp complex concepts in an enjoyable manner. “She would always make me smile, even when I was feeling down or mad,” he noted, emphasizing the importance of supportive educators in shaping student experiences.

As Coronado approaches his post-secondary education, he has chosen to attend Gateway Technical College, where he intends to major in welding or mechanics. This career path aligns with his aspirations of becoming a skilled tradesman—a vital role in today’s workforce that continues to gain recognition for its importance in maintaining infrastructural and industrial standards.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Coronado looks up to his grandfather as a role model. “My grandpa is my role model because he shows me how to become a responsible young adult. He always looks out for me and my best interests,” Coronado shared, highlighting the value of family and mentorship in his life.

Looking ahead, he aspires to establish his own business, a goal that reflects his entrepreneurial spirit and desire for independence. “To own my own business” is how he envisions his lifetime achievement.

The Kenosha News proudly recognizes Aarin Coronado and other outstanding seniors for their leadership capabilities, community involvement, and academic success. Readers are encouraged to visit the website daily for more profiles of exceptional students throughout the area.
